YOGA

with Zoë

I am currently only teaching Yoga on a 1-1 / small group basis. The focus in my sessions is on working with your body to improve your strength, flexibility and balance, which is great for your general health and can also lead to improved performance in other sports and make you less likely to injure yourself. The ease of movement and awareness of the breath which comes with practising Yoga in this way is often found to increase your energy and sense of well being and can help calm the mind and reduce stress and anxiety.

I've been practising Yoga for 26 years and teaching for 16. Having experienced back problems I started Yoga with Simone Sorrell, an Osteopath and Yoga Teacher. My initial teacher training was with Ruth White Yoga and I have a teaching diploma in Iyengar inspired Karuna Yoga (RYS500). I've continued training through further courses with Ruth White, Geoff Powell, Philip Xerri and Dr. Ruth Gilmore. Completing Gary Carter’s Yoga and Anatomy course in 2009 changed my practice and teaching considerably and since then I have attended a number of workshops with Gary and with teachers such as Catherine Annis who are influenced by Vanda Scaravelli.
